Leaf-footed bug
A leaf-footed bug pauses in his perambulations at the Las Cruces Biological Station of the Organization for Tropical Studies. Researchers from numerous institutions take advantage of the southern Costa Rican station's rich diversity of insect life to add new pieces to the puzzle of biodiversity.

"Postcards from Costa Rica" commemorates the organization's 40th anniversary. A full-length article on how its researchers and policymakers are helping to conserve tropical forests will appear in an upcoming issue of Duke Magazine.
