Vampire Bat
La Selva Research Station in Costa Rica is a "hot spot" for 60 to 65 different bat species including this vampire bat, whose only diet is the blood of mammals and birds.

"Postcards from Costa Rica" commemorates the Organization for Tropical Studies 40th anniversary. A full-length article on how its researchers and policymakers are helping to conserve tropical forests will appear in an upcoming issue of Duke Magazine.
