Duke will kickoff its 2013 schedule Saturday when it hosts North Carolina Central University for the Bull City Gridiron Classic.

With the start of a new season, it means Duke community members should prepare for weekend activities around campus as the Blue Devils aim to play in a bowl game for the second-straight year.

Students and employees can expect an increase in traffic and visitors to campus on game days as Duke hosts seven home games this season.

Here are three things to remember heading into Saturday's game against North Carolina Central University at Wallace Wade Stadium.

1. Employee Kickoff Celebration is Sept. 28

Unlike previous years, this season's Employee Kickoff won't take place on the first home game of the year. The 2013 Employee Kickoff will be Sept. 28, when Duke hosts Troy University.

Duke faculty and staff are eligible to request up to four free tickets to the game, which will also include pre-game activities like inflatable games, a catered meal and music. Tickets can be reserved at goduke.com/employee or by calling (919) 681-8738. A DukeCard ID is required to pick up tickets on game day

Because of its placement on Duke's schedule, a game time is yet to be announced for the Sept. 28 matchup. Visit the Working@Duke section of Duke Today for updates leading up to the game.

2. Deeply discounted tickets available for employees

Faculty and staff can still purchase Employee Athletic Pass season tickets to Blue Devil football games for $90 a seat - and cheer on Duke against North Carolina Central this week. That price comes out to $12.85 per game, nearly $33 cheaper than regular-priced tickets. All Athletic Pass seats are in sections 7 to 10 of Wallace Wade Stadium, which span the 35 to 50-yard lines.

Purchase the Employee Athletic Pass, presented by Duke Credit Union, by calling (919) 681-2583.

An athletic pass is also available for Duke women's basketball. A season ticket includes four general admission seats to all home games. Last year's rate was $75. The schedule will be released this fall.

3. Allow for extra travel time around campus on game days

Due to road work on-and-around campus, getting to Wallace Wade Stadium may require more time than normal this season. Duke Athletics has a complete rundown of where detours and closures will impact game day traffic, as well as new information for game day activities like the Coca-Cola Kids' Zone and how to receive assistance at games via text message.
