Said@Duke: Better Angels' Ciaran O'Connor on Depolarization

Part of the Said@Duke: 2019-2020 Series
Said@Duke:

Ciaran O'Connor, Better Angels chief marketing officer and a Trinity graduate, spoke Tuesday to Kenan Institute instructor John Rose's class about the group's national effort to bring liberals and conservatives together at the grassroots level. Their goal is not to find centrist compromise, but to encounter one another as citizens. Through workshops, debates, and campus engagement, Better Angels seeks to help Americans understand each other beyond stereotypes, form community alliances, and reduce the vitriol that poisons civic culture. O'Connor previously served as a staffer on the Obama 2012 and Clinton 2016 presidential campaigns.
