Get Your Teeth Cleaned at Duke

Campus Smiles dental office now accepts Duke employee dental insurance plans

If you’re looking for a new and convenient option for a dentist, Duke’s Campus Smiles dental office is now seeing staff and faculty.

Campus Smiles, a full-service practice in the Student Wellness Center at 305 Towerview Rd., accepts all three of Duke’s dental insurance plans – Preferred Provider Option, Plan A and Plan B.  Campus Smiles has other university branches, including one at North Carolina State University.

“Dental care is an important part of everyone’s health and wellness,” said Sylvester Hackney, associate director of benefits for Duke Human Resources. “Campus Smiles is a good option for people looking for a convenient dentist located on campus.”

Campus Smiles offers cleanings, X-rays, fillings, root canals, whitening and more services. Every employee at Campus Smiles is a licensed dentist, hygienist or dental assistant. Cost for procedures vary depending on dental insurance plan. Appointments can be made between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Walk-in appointments are accepted pending availability.

“It’s so convenient to see a dentist on campus,” said Erixson, student development coordinator for the arts for Duke Student Affairs. “It’s almost like walking through your living room to get to an appointment.”

Theresa Survillion, assistant director of Duke Fraternity and Sorority Life, didn’t have a regular dentist so she decided to visit Campus Smiles for a cleaning.

“It was a great experience,” she said. “The staff really did a good job making me think about the importance of oral care.”
