The Cost of Opportunity in the Baixada Fluminense, Brazil
Global Brazil Lab co-director Prof. John French talks about the immersive experience of taking Duke students to the Baixada Fluminense, one of the most dangerous areas of Brazil's capital, Rio de Janeiro. Duke undergrads and grad students were able to collaborate with Brazilian students as they tackled the issue of accessible college education for Brazil's poorest populations.
Here, Prof. French is joined by Duke visiting professor of cultural anthropology Katya Wesolowski and Duke undergrad Adair Necalli as they talk about collaboration with Brazilian students.
