Duke Awards Trinity Scholarships To Four Students From N.C.

Award covers costs for eight semesters at Duke

DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke University has awarded Trinity Scholarships -- merit scholarships that cover full tuition and many other expenses -- to four recent high school graduates from North Carolina.The scholarships, established by Duke alumni to honor the university's origins as Trinity College in North Carolina’s Randolph County, provide funds for tuition, fees, room and board, as well as summer study, work and travel experiences for all four years at Duke. The full value of each scholarship is more than $260,000 over four years.This year’s recipients are:-- Richard Clayton Delp, of Fuquay Varina, will receive the Beischer/Fox Trinity Scholarship. -- Alexander Thomas Heap, of High Point, will receive the Doris Stroup Slane Trinity Scholarship. -- Carlo Lindner, of Greensboro, will receive the Cassell/Saperstein Trinity Scholarship.-- Logan Smith, of High Point, will receive the David L. Maynard Family Trinity Scholarship. There are numerous Trinity Scholarships, each funded by different donors. New scholars are named as current scholars graduate.
