Duke Places Travel Restrictions to Liberia and Guinea

Restrictions in effect due to Ebola outbreak

Duke University’s International Travel Oversight Committee has imposed full country restrictions on Liberia and Guinea.

This is being done out of an abundance of caution in light of the Ebola outbreak affecting these two countries and Sierra Leone, which already had a full country restriction for safety/security reasons, according to Christy Parrish Michels, Duke's travel policy administrator.

Duke community members traveling abroad on Duke business are encouraged to register with Duke. The registry is used to locate travelers abroad should a natural disaster or crisis associated with civil and/or political unrest occur at a destination.
