Duke's "Maintain Don't Gain" program helps keep weight off

Hundreds of faculty and staff received free help from LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke's employee wellness program, to keep their health in check over the holidays.

More than 650 employees signed up for Maintain Don't Gain, the free self-directed annual program that ran from Nov. 11 to Jan. 3. Employees received weekly emails with healthy recipes and tips and strategies for exercise, stress management and healthy behaviors.

"Healthy living habits don't pause during the holidays and that's something we always want people to remember," said Katie MacEachern, LIVE FOR LIFE fitness specialist. "We had 71 people who lost five or more pounds this year which is inspiring."
