Sue Wasiolek, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Duke, has had a gym membership for more than a decade.

"It's a great value, and very convenient," said Wasiolek, who works out at Wilson on most mornings. "They have awesome classes and equipment, but what I really love is that I get to chat and interact with other faculty, staff and students. We all motivate each other."

Purchasing a membership through the DukeCard office allows an employee to join as an individual or a family and have access to both Wilson and Brodie recreation facilities. The annual membership fee is $232 for an individual and $464 for the family plan. Membership runs from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014.

This year, the Recreation Centers are offering the first month free to eligible employees who purchase an annual membership between July 1 and July 31. Payment can be made with cash, debit cards and FLEX accounts. Payroll deduction is available for full-time employees.

Visit the DukeCard office website for membership options and fees.
