Summer Parking Changes on Campus
Duke community members can park in several lots with a valid parking permit
With the academic year over, students, faculty and staff have several
new options for parking on campus. Parking and Transportation Services
has opened up select lots where Duke community members with a valid
parking permit are permitted to park at any time. Summertime parking
options will be in effect May 16 to Aug. 15, unless noted
otherwise.
Valid Duke permits can be used to park in the following lots and zones during the summer:
- Gravel lots on Duke University Road
- Blue Zone
- 751 Lot (through July 10)
- East Employee Zone (excluding Crowell lot)
- Red Zone
- Green Zone (Bassett Drive)
Blue and Red zone permits are also valid on Central Campus. All other lots and garages will have normally enforced year-round permit requirements.
Students who are gone for summer break are able to leave Duke-registered vehicles in three parking areas of the Blue Zone Lot
that are located to the left of the Blue Zone entrance. Because there
are special events held near the Blue Zone over summer, vehicles left in
any other Blue Zone area may be towed at the owner's expense.
In addition to the change in parking restrictions, Parking and Transportation has also adjusted bus schedules for the summer.
