Nominations Open for Service-Learning Awards
Awards recognize one graduating senior, one faculty member, one community partner
The Service-Learning Program is once again accepting nominations for the Betsy Alden Outstanding Service-Learning Awards.
This year there are three awards, to recognize one graduating senior, one faculty member, and one community partner for their outstanding commitment to the ideals of service-learning. Each Alden award winner will receive $250 to further develop his/her community-building and leadership skills. Winners will be recognized at the Student Affairs Distinguished Leadership and Service Awards program on April 21st, as well as at other Service-Learning Program and/or Program in Education events.
Students, faculty members, and community partners who have participated in at least one service-learning course at Duke are eligible for an Alden Award. Any member of the Duke community may nominate an eligible individual (or organization) for a Betsy Alden Outstanding Service-Learning Award by submitting a statement of no more than 500 words indicating why the nominee deserves the award in light of the criteria specified in the attached award description.
