Yes, You Can Still Search for Duke People

Here's how to conduct do easy searches of Duke websites using Duke Today

We've received some great feedback about the new version of Duke
Today, which launched on April 20.
One question we heard is whether you can still search the site for directory
information for Duke faculty, staff and students.

Yes, you can.

Just use the blue dropdown "brand bar" at the top of Duke
Today, the one that says "Search or Browse All of Duke University."  Doing so will open up a search box that,
as with the old version of Duke Today, provides the same search response as on
the university homepage.  This
includes phone numbers and both office and email addresses.

On Duke Today's Working@Duke section, you can also click on the
Duke directory in the "My Accounts & Services" tab on the right.

We moved the main Duke search box to the blue brand bar to
free up Duke Today's search box to solve the biggest complaint we heard about
the old site, namely that you couldn't search for old stories once they rotated
off the news page.

Duke Today's new search box lets you find these stories. Use
it in tandem with the blue dropdown brand bar's search box, which lets you search
all Duke University sites.  Our statistics over the past few days suggest
many of you have already begun doing just that.

One other thing: You'll see the blue dropdown brand bar on more
and more websites across the university. The Office of Student Affairs and the Duke
on Demand video site are recent examples.
Schools and units are embracing it as a powerful tool to develop their
own sites while enabling users to quickly find information across Duke
University.

So try both search boxes -- and let us know what you think.
We really welcome your feedback about Duke Today's new look and features.
