A Duke Workday: Sign and Graphic Services Shop

Brian Backus, supervisor for Duke Sign and Graphic Services shop, has worked at Duke for 30 years. In that time, he has taken on numerous projects ranging from commemorative basketballs marking historic victories to critical communications during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Backus works in Engineering and Operations in Duke University Health System, a shop that also serves the university.

“My favorite part about this job is the people,” Backus said. “This is my family. This is my second home, for sure.”
