The Duke community stands in support of our friends and colleagues at UNC-Chapel Hill. The university paid tribute to our Research Triangle neighbors during the daily 5 p.m. carillon recital at Duke Chapel Tuesday.
Carillonneur Mitchell Eithun researched the score used at the UNC Bell Tower to play the university’s alma mater “Hark the Sound,” and arranged it for the carillon. The recital was performed by Eithun’s colleague on the carillon, Aaron Colston.
Eithun, a Michigan State alum, gave a similar performance for the MSU community in February following a shooting on its campus.
Earlier on Tuesday, President Vincent Price shared a statement expressing the Duke community’s support for UNC.
