Portions of Chapel Drive will be closed during the afternoon of Friday, April 14, to allow first-year students to take part in a new campus tradition. To celebrate the completion of their first year at Duke, students will walk together down Chapel Drive toward West Campus.
As a result, Chapel Drive, between Duke University Road and the Campus Drive traffic circle, will be closed from 2 p.m. to shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday, April 14, to allow students to gather for a ceremony at the Karsh Alumni & Visitors Center before walking to Abele Quad.
Community members who park on Wannamaker Drive and in the University Communications lot should expect major delays and are advised to avoid the area.
