Come Celebrate Bricks To Stone

The community is encouraged to help launch a campus tradition.

All in the Duke community are invited to line Chapel Drive at 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, to mark the first-year class moving from the bricks of East Campus to the stones of West Campus.

President Price will welcome the students to West Campus with a class pinning ceremony.

The procession forms part of the first-years' introduction to the new visual identities for the West Campus quads, part of Duke's QuadEx living-learning model.

The celebration begins at 3 p.m. with a first-year block party at Karsh Alumni Center.

At 4 p.m., the students will walk en masse from Karsh to the Chapel. The pinning ceremony will take place in front of the Chapel at 4:45.

Quad parties welcoming first-years to their new homes will begin at 5 p.m., with food and brand new quad and class march.
