Student Environmental Policy Research Grounded in a Family Plot of Land
Inspired by an ancestral plot of land, Sanford student Cameron Oglesby grew up passionate about protecting the environment
The inspiration for Cameron Oglesby’s interest in environmental justice and environmental policy started early in her life. In this video, the master’s degree student explains how her regular visits to her grandmother’s farm in Upper Marlboro, Md., built her desire to work with communities to protect the environment.
"I'm grounded in the knowledge that the work that I attempt to do to elevate other people's voices resonates very firmly with my own familial connection to environmental spaces," Oglesby said.
