Heavy Traffic Expected For Sept. 2 Home Football Game
Congestion is expected on campus the afternoon of Sept. 2 for the season opener against Temple

Duke community members should expect heavy traffic ahead of the Sept. 2 football home opener against Temple University.
Starting four hours before the game, the convergence of fans and community members coming to the game at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium and staff and faculty leaving work around the same time is expected to produce congestion on campus roads.
As kickoff approaches, Duke University Road will be closed to the public between Anderson Street and North Carolina 751. To shorten travel time Friday afternoon, Duke community members are encouraged to avoid Duke University Road, Science Drive, Towerview Road and Circuit Drive as much as possible.
All regular traffic patterns around campus will resume once the game starts. Duke Athletics staff will provide real-time information on the Gameday Operations Twitter feed.
Those with West Campus parking passes staying for the game should move their vehicle to public parking at the Chemistry and Circuit lots.
Game Day Service Impacts to Duke Buses
Due to increased traffic on-and-around campus, Duke Transit will make the following adjustments:
- The PR1: Bassett-Research route will end early at 7 p.m.
- The LL: LaSalle Loop route will operate on a regular schedule, but passengers may experience minor delays due to spectator parking.
- Duke Van Services will not operate on Sept. 2.
