Dancing in the Rain to Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience

A little rain – or at times more than a little rain – wasn‘t going to stop a zydeco hoedown, not in Durham and not in Duke Gardens. This past Wednesday, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience took stage, and led the sold-out audience in a dance party that went on for more than a hour, never stopping during the shower.

Terrance SemienThe show was part of the Music in the Gardens series, the popular summer concert program that put in-person concerts on hold for two years during the pandemic. Durham music lovers were delighted at its return: All five performances of the series were sold out, including the season's final concert Thursday headlined by the Cary-based alt-pop group Weston Estate. Photos by Jared Lazarus and Robert Zimmerman.
