Congestion Expected for Student Move-In, Block Party Event
Allow extra travel time around campus due to move-in on Aug. 20 and a block party event on evening of Aug. 22
With first-year students arriving on campus for the start of the academic year, heavier traffic is expected on and around East Campus, including Main Street, Broad Street, Markham Avenue and Buchanan Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 20.
During move-in, travel on Towerview Road between Duke University Road and Science Drive will be limited to Duke pass-holders, buses and Duke vehicles.
Also, from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. on Monday, August 22, Campus Drive will be closed in both directions between Anderson Street and Alexander Avenue for a student-related block party event.
