It was a quiet week at Duke University. The only cool creatures were the koi fish and the dragonflies in Duke Gardens. The American Dance Festival completed its summer season of performances and classes. At times, even the Brodhead Center looked empty. But it made for lovely images across the campus by university photographers.

Summer academic and athletic camps continued and the second summer session kept a number of Duke students filling classrooms and the library and other study spaces. Visitors found cool spaces in Duke Gardens. And in the evenings, students took walks through the campus.

With the heat keeping people mostly indoors, the plaza outside of the Brodhead Center was generally empty.
