If you’re planning on applying for credit, entering into a lease or rental agreement, financing a purchase, or applying for government services, Duke has made one part of the process easier by partnering with the “The Work Number” by Equifax.

The Work Number replaces the previous process of contacting Duke Corporate Payroll Services for these requests. The change makes the process more convenient for employees and provides fast and easy verification of income or employment online.

After registering for an account for The Work Number, Duke employees can quickly generate a report of their employment and income information through theworknumber.com, by emailing member@equifax.com or by calling 800-367-5690 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For a small fee, similar to the processing fees previously charged by Duke, current or former employees can have their proof of income and employment information sent directly to the rental company, mortgage broker or other entity requesting it digitally.

“The benefit is going to be that employees don’t have to wait because it’s at their fingertips,” said Kassaundra Hester, director of Duke Corporate Payroll. “The employee can either go online or call a number and get the request verification done immediately.”

By moving the income and employment verification process online, The Work Number not only streamlines the experience for users, it also makes things easier for the Duke Corporate Payroll office.

“This will save time and our staff lots of paper,” Hester said. “This will definitely make it more efficient.”
