Making the Move at Duke Children's Hospital
Video captures the hard work and excitement of transferring patients and equipment to the new facility
The inpatient units of Duke Children's hospital made the move to the brand-new Duke Central Tower during Dec.10-12, 2021! This move was many years in the making, and we are thrilled to be able to offer our patients and their families the same world-class care in a new, upgraded, and family-friendly space.
Duke Central Tower is a 350-bed, 490,000-square-foot tower, located between Duke University Hospital and Duke Medicine Pavilion, which includes spacious patient rooms, family zones, and playrooms, and offers the latest advances in technology to ensure a comfortable setting for care. The entrance and lobby area features high ceilings, large waiting areas, and a Starbucks.
This short video provides an overview of how important this move was for patients and families who are now able to receive care in the new, state-of-the-art tower. It also recognizes the remarkable teamwork this move required from our Duke staff.
