Duke Listed Among Top Five Universities in WSJ/Times Higher Education National Ranking
Boosted by its influence on students’ post-academic careers, Duke placed fifth in the 2022 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education rankings.
Duke ranked second in the outcomes category, which incorporates the graduation rate and the value added by the teaching at a college, and accounts for 40 percent of the overall ranking.
The rest of the overall score combines academic resources, including how much a college spends on teaching; the learning environment, including diversity among students and faculty; student engagement, including how prepared students feel to use their education after college; and graduate salaries and debt.
The ranking is partly based on data gathered before the pandemic, including a US Student Survey, which gathered the views of about 170,000 university students in 2018 and 2019 on their college experience.
