The Class of 2025 Spells It Out
The Class of 2025 ended its first day together on campus Wednesday night with a class photo. The moment marked the return of this beloved student tradition—the last time the class will be together as one until their graduation weekend in 2025.
As the sun set on a humid evening, the East Campus quad was filled with was a high-energy, celebratory atmosphere, as students took their places in the numbers of their graduating year, they were instructed to wear their masks as a safety precaution. The event was emceed by Duke students Natalie Lopresti and Natalie Ezem and included pep talks from head softball coach Marissa Young, head football coach David Cutcliffe and future head men’s basketball coach Jon Scheyer.
The magic moment was led by Cutcliffe, who instructed students to wave their hands as the photo was taken. The song “Good Time” by Owl City played on the speakers, and a minute into the piece, a confetti cannon shot out biodegradable confetti over the scene.
The Class of 2024, which had to forego the class photo last year, will get its moment together on Saturday.
