Duke Cancer Institute Celebrates Survivorship Day Today
Today at the Duke Cancer Institute, it’s all about celebrating surviving.
The institute’s Survivorship Day will include a variety of events for current cancer patients, cancer survivors and their friends and families. The schedule includes spa treatments and massages, tai chi, pet therapy, meditation and advice from a range of specialists on coping with cancer.
Duke Today is marking the day with a collection of stories. Here’s what we have today:
- Schedule of events at the Duke Cancer Institute
- Photographer Jared Lazarus’ portraits of cancer survivors, several of which are currently on exhibit at the Cancer Institute
- Video of Lazarus discussing his cancer survivor portrait project
- A TED talk by Divinity School Professor Kate Bowler, who is living with a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer.
