Today: Duke Welcomes Wounded Vets and Soldiers for the 2019 Valor Games

More than 100 wounded soldiers and veterans will be competing in wheelchair basketball, indoor rowing, archery and powerlifting all day Wednesday at Duke as part of the annual Valor Games.

Hosted by Bridge II Sports, the Valor Games are for disabled military veterans and serves as an adaptive sporting event, helping the veterans build self-confidence and camaraderie and have an outlet for athletic competition.

Members of the Duke community are invited to turn out and cheer on the veterans.  Here’s today’s schedule:

8:30 am-3:00 pm

  • ARCHERY: all day, K-Ville
  • POWERLIFTING: 9am – 11am, Wilson Gym
  • INDOOR ROWING: 8:30am – 1pm, Cameron Indoor Stadium
  • TABLE TENNIS: 9am – 12pm, Hall of Honor
  • WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL: all day with full court final game at approx. 1:30pm, Cameron Indoor Stadiu

Parking is available in Science Drive Parking Garage

Spectators will have access to stands in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
