Diane Bloom: This is a hopeful film.

Local filmmaker Diane Bloom talked about her documentary, “An Unlikely Friendship,” which tells the story of how civil rights activist Ann Atwater and Klansman CP Ellis came to work together in the early 1970s for the betterment of the Durham community. The film version, “Best of Enemies,” starring Sam Rockwell and Taraji P. Hensen, opens in theaters April 5.
