Crime Alert: Armed Robbery Reported in Duke Gardens Visitor Center

Suspect displayed silver handgun and demanded money, no injuries reported

On Sunday afternoon around 5 p.m., an armed robbery was reported in the Doris Duke Center at Duke Gardens.

The suspect approached an individual and displayed a silver handgun and demanded money. No injuries were reported. The suspect was last seen fleeing the Doris Duke Center.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5 ft. 9 inches to 6 ft. tall with a thin build. He was wearing a pink striped long-sleeve shirt and dark pants. He wore a ski mask and had short dreadlocks.
