Al Buehler Trail Parking Lot to Temporarily Close due to Construction
The parking lot along NC 751 will be closed for a week, starting Nov. 27
A construction project along NC 751 will force the Al Buehler Trail parking lot to be closed from Nov. 27 to Dec. 4.
Those wishing to use the trail during the parking lot closure are encouraged to park at the rear of the gravel Jogging Trail Lot off NC 751.
The construction project, which began in October, will result in 1,600 feet of new sidewalk along the south side of NC 751 between the Washington Duke Inn and Erwin Road. It is expected to be completed later in December.
Named for a longtime teacher and coach at Duke, the popular 2.91-mile Al Buehler Trail weaves through the forest surrounding the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club.
