Sections of Towerview Road to Close Through Summer
Utility work will run May 17 to August 15, 2017
Beginning May 17, Towerview Road on West Campus will be closed to traffic in both directions at two locations in the road for utility work.
The two locations that will be closed to traffic on Towerview are:
- Duke University Road to the traffic circle at Wannamaker Drive
- Union Drive to the Card Gym parking lot
A detour route will be maintained for access to the Card Gym Lot.
The Towerview closure is necessary to provide new utility services throughout West Campus and to provide new utility service for the 265,000 square-foot Hollows Residence Hall located adjacent to Edens and Keohane quads.
Navigation tips:
- Motorists on Duke University Road will be able to access the Card Gym lot by entering at Wannamaker Drive (through the Blue Zone Parking lot) and turning left at the Towerview Road traffic circle.
- Motorists coming from the Erwin Road area should take Cameron Boulevard (east) and then Duke University Road (north) to access Wannamaker Drive for the Card Gym lot.
Signs will be posted in the area to assist motorists.
