The Duke Community Comes Out to Ring the Victory Bell

Duke students, staff and fans celebrate Duke football team's 28-27 win over rival UNC Chapel Hill Thursday by ringing the victory bell. The victory bell is a traveling trophy awarded to the winner of the annual football game.

Traditionally the bell is painted in the colors of the winning team.  UNC broke tradition this year by presenting the bell half in Duke blue and half in UNC blue. The bell remained in this pristine condition Friday afternoon. "That won't last long," said a Duke athletics official.
