Construction, Athletics Events to Impact Weekend Traffic
Small construction area on Science Drive will prevent through traffic from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday
Traffic and parking will be impacted around campus this weekend as Facilities Management oversees roadway repairs and Duke Athletics hosts multiple events on West Campus.
Pot Hole Repair
From 8 a.m. to approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, crews will work on roads across East, Central and West campuses to repair potholes. No roadways will be closed, but crews may temporarily stop drivers to ensure safety as vehicles pass by construction areas. There is no set schedule for specific roads, as work will take place concurrently across Duke-owned roads.
Closure on Science Drive
A small construction area on Science Drive near the Science Drive Visitor Lot will prevent through traffic from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. Work is related to renovations taking place at the R. David Thomas Center as crews perform utility work. Those traveling to campus are encouraged to use Towerview Road and can see this map for details.
Duke Athletics Events
On Saturday, on-campus traffic and parking will be impacted for a pair of men’s tennis matches at Ambler Tennis Stadium that begin at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Increased vehicle traffic is also expected on Sunday, when women’s tennis has a match at noon in Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center and women’s basketball plays at 2 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Duke community members and visitors are encouraged to review the variety of traffic and parking alerts related to these events, which can be found on the Duke Athletics website.
