Cheer on Hurricanes Hockey at a Discount

Before Jennifer Harrill and her husband, Mark, had children, they attended Carolina Hurricanes ice hockey games, joining cheering fans pounding bleachers and eating Dippin’ Dots ice cream and funnel cakes.

They’ve had two children since then, and now Jennifer sees Carolina Hurricanes games as a special night out for her husband, a big sports fan.

“Any opportunity for him to get out without the kids with the other guys is really good,” said Jennifer, a clinical social worker in Duke South. “It’s so much fun. It’s definitely worth it to try out one game and experience hockey.”

January through March, all Duke employees can save at select Carolina Hurricanes home games through the Duke employee discount program, PERQS. Staff and faculty can get $25 to $42 off box office ticket prices, depending on seat location, during Duke Employee Nights.

Discount home games are Jan. 2 versus the Nashville Predators; Feb. 13 and March 26 versus the New York Islanders; and Feb. 23 versus the Philadelphia Flyers. All games start at 7 p.m. at Raleigh’s PNC Arena.

To receive the discount, the ticket purchasing webpage and special offer code can be found on the Duke PERQS website, which requires employees to sign in with their Duke NetID and password.
