Update Information, Win Prizes During ‘Check Yourself’ Campaign

Duke's "Check Yourself" campaign will run July 20 to 31, when employees are encouraged to update their Duke information.

Winning a night’s stay at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, Duke Football season tickets or a calming 50-minute massage may be as easy as checking your Duke employee profile.As part of a Duke-wide “Check Yourself” campaign, Duke employees are encouraged to visit the Duke@Work self-service website from July 20 to 31 to review and update their information under the “My Profile” tab. A ‘golden ticket’ has been hidden at random in the “My Profile” page of Duke@Work for 10 employees, giving lucky winners access to a variety of prizes. Individuals must check all of their personal data fields to learn if they have one of the 10 golden tickets.Making sure all personal information is up-to-date helps Duke Human Resources deliver mail to correct home addresses, send emergency notifications to accurate cell phone numbers, ensure employees’ dependents are on file, and more. For example, last year, more than 800 open enrollment packets were returned because of bad addresses.“Having access to up-to-date, accurate employee information helps us communicate more effectively with our faculty and staff, especially when we send communications to employees about retirement, health insurance and other Duke benefits,” said Kyle Cavanaugh, Duke’s vice president for administration. Information categories to review and update are: •    Home address and phone number•    County of residence•    Interoffice address•    External work address•    Cell phone number•    Race/ethnicity•    Dependent information•    Disability status Staff and faculty who check their information may find a golden ticket and can redeem it for a prize. Available prizes include: •    A $200 gift certificate for a performance at the Durham Performing Arts Center•    A 50-minute massage at Duke Integrative Medicine•    A night’s stay and breakfast for two at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club•    An Employee Athletic Pass, including two season tickets for football and four season tickets for women’s basketball If an employee finds a golden ticket, he or she is asked to call (919) 684-5600 to redeem it. Prizes will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
