Employee Giving Campaign Extended through Nov. 22

Doing Good in the Neighborhood campaign gets new donors

Doing Good in the Neighborhood, the annual employee giving campaign, has been extended through p.m. Nov. 22, to accommodate a growing number of new donors.

Lindsey Naylor, program coordinator for the Doing Good in the Neighborhood campaign, said 300 employees who did not donate last year contributed to this year's campaign. By extending the campaign for an additional week, Duke hopes to attract even more employees to participate in the program, she said.

"We are excited to see this influx of new faculty and staff, and want to make it easy for others to get involved," Naylor said.

Nearly 1,100 employees have already donated to the campaign, slightly above last year's total of 1,027.

"I'm inspired by the generosity and team spirit of my Duke colleagues," said Phail Wynn, vice president for Durham and Regional Affairs. "No matter the size of gift, each new donor broadens our collective impact and the campaign's expression of the boundless caring capacity of Duke employees. I hope more of our colleagues take advantage of this opportunity to sign up in support of our friends and neighbors in need."

As an extra bonus, all employees who give by Nov. 22 will be entered into drawings for:

  • A football autographed by Duke football coach David Cutcliffe
  • A basketball autographed by Duke women's basketball coach Joanne P. McCallie
  • A weekend stay for two at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
  • A one-year membership to the Executive Club at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
  • Free flowers every month for a year from Ninth Street Flowers
