Keisha Williams
Keisha Williams has been appointed as the new director of Learning and Organization Development in Duke Human Resources following a national recruitment effort. She will begin Aug. 19.

Williams comes to Duke from Virginia Tech, where she has served as the executive director for University Organizational and Professional Development since 2007. Her prior work experience includes serving as the director for executive leadership development at the North Carolina Institute for Public Health in UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and director of professional development for Granville County Schools.

"Duke is an extraordinary institution, and I’m thrilled to serve as the next director of Learning and Organization Development," Williams said. "I'm looking forward to getting to know the organization and the people better to assess needs and determine how we can best provide support."

Williams will be returning to Durham, where she obtained her master's degree in public administration at North Carolina Central University after completing a Bachelor of Science in political science at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in public administration and policy studies at Virginia Tech.

"We are excited to add someone of Keisha's talent and experience to our management team," said Kyle Cavanaugh, vice president for administration. "She brings with her an impressive track record of leadership development, internal consulting, professional development programing and succession planning. She will be an excellent strategic resource to support our leaders in managing organizational change and preparing our workforce to meet the demands of the future."
