Aravamudan Wins Indiana U. Book Award
Aravamudan, an English professor and Dean of the Humanities, won the Kenshur Prize for 18th Century studies
A book by Duke's Srinivas Aravamudan has been honored by Indiana University.
Aravamudan's "Enlightenment Orientalism" received this year's Kenshur Prize, given each year by Indiana's Center for Eighteenth-Century Studies. Aravamudan's areas of expertise include 18th Century literature, British literature, post-colonial literature and critical theory.
Aravamudan will receive $1,000 and will speak at a symposium at Indiana later this year. Indiana has given the award annually since 2007.
