"I think having an outdoor movie is a great way to involve families and kids in the Duke Appreciation celebrations," said Virginia Carden, associate librarian at the Medical Center Library, "Even though I don't have kids, I love the idea of a family-friendly event."

Free parking will be available in the Bryan Center Parking Garage by Duke Chapel, the Chemistry lot off Circuit Drive and the Blue Zone lots off Wannamaker Drive.

The Movie on the Quad is one of several activities to recognize nearly 35,000 faculty and staff at Duke University and Duke University Health System. Other events include discount tickets to Duke vs. North Carolina State University baseball games on May 16, 17 and 18; discount "Lemur Live" tours at the Lemur Center on May 25, and special restaurant deals in May.

Staff and faculty are also encouraged to show their appreciation for co-workers by writing a note on the "Making a Difference" blog or by picking up a treat and free personalized bookmark at the Duke Farmers Market.
