Duke Continuing Studies and Corporate Education Group to Deliver Training Certificate Programs
New partnership will serve professionals seeking targeted business skills courses
Duke Continuing Studies is strengthening its corporate training certificate programs through a partnership with Boston-based Corporate Education Group (CEG).
Duke University Management Training -- a program of Continuing Studies -- and CEG will offer courses for individuals and organizations worldwide. The courses will be part of four different certificate programs -- in project management, business analysis, management and leadership and business process management. The first classes -- in the project management and business analysis certificate programs -- will be offered in the Triangle starting in September.
"We wanted Continuing Studies to reach beyond our traditional community and connect with more professionals seeking targeted business skills courses," said Paula Gilbert, associate dean of Duke University Continuing Studies. CEG's experience in developing quality courseware makes it a strong partner for Continuing Studies and Duke’s academic excellence, she said.
The certificate programs are designed to augment professional development, improve team-based skills and develop existing talent within organizations. Corporations will be able to tailor the training to fit their organizations' needs, said John Bonanno, CEG's president.
The four new joint certificate programs will be offered in different formats, ranging from traditional classrooms to online and virtual formats. Each program includes a series of individual courses that participants must complete in full. After fulfilling the course requirements and passing post-course exams, participants will receive a letter grade and a certificate of completion jointly issued by Duke University and CEG. Prices start at $4,195 for traditional classrooms and $2,895 for virtual delivery.
U.S. corporations and organizations spent more than $7.4 billion on external training vendors and consultants in 2012, according to the Training Industry Report issued annually by Training magazine.
