Wiener Co-Chairs International Risk Conference

Jonathan Wiener, professor of law at Duke University School of Law and member of the Duke Center for Interdisciplinary Decision Sciences, is co-chairing the World Congress on Risk in Australia. The gathering of nearly 400 of risk researchers and experts will discuss natural disasters; pandemic disease; public perception of risks such as genetically modified foods and climate change; anticipating and preventing terrorism; and financial crises risk analysis. This year's event will focus on "Risk and Development in a Changing World." The event is sponsored by the Society for Risk Analysis, the National Science Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
