Duke paid tribute to its traditions and the contributions
made by members of the university community Thursday during the annual
Founders' Day ceremony in Duke Chapel.
Above, long-time chemistry professor James Bonk, who taught organic
chemistry to generations of Duke students, is presented with the University
Medal, one of the university's highest honors for service.  Presenting the award is President
Richard H. Brodhead and University Marshal and Academic Council Chair Susan
Lozier. (See the full ceremony here.)
