Fill Temporary Jobs With Online Form

New process to eliminate need to fax, email temp requests

Requesting temporary staffing at Duke just got easier and more sustainable.Beginning this week, hiring managers are able to use an online "Job Order Request Form" to fill temporary positions instead of submitting requests by fax or email to Duke Temporary Service (DTS). The move helps streamline the hiring process, making it more efficient for both managers and DTS staff."Not only will this be more user friendly, but it will keep us from wasting paper," said Sylvia Smith, manager of DTS. "We have stacks and stacks of paper requests, but now they'll be stored on a secure server to provide us easy access and greater flexibility in closing job orders."In addition to making the order process easier for both DTS staff and hiring managers, the new online form will help minimize errors and create a more comprehensive record of orders in an online database, Smith said. The new form will also save hiring managers time because everything can be completed and submitted in one occurrence, rather than faxing or emailing job orders, she said. Hiring managers will also receive both an online and email confirmation of their request for their records. The new online job order request form can be used on the DTS website.
