Coach Mike Krzyzewski, chairman of the Duke Children's Card program, unveiled the 2010 Greeting Card collection along with the artists Wednesday morning in the lobby of the Children's Health Center at Duke Children's.
Proceeds from the 30th annual Duke Children's Card series featuring holiday and all-occasion designs by young artists will benefit pediatric programs at Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.
The artists were on-hand to describe their artwork-and their motivation to participate. "I feel happy that my artwork can help the children that have to be in the hospital, said Kimberly Barbosa of Holt Elementary, creator of the Winter Town card. "My family was very excited and proud when my art was chosen."
From the hundreds of designs submitted this year, six were chosen to become this year's edition of Duke Children's Cards. The holiday cards are sold in variety packs of 20 for $15 at Harris Teeter stores, Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Coastal Federal Credit Union, Duke Credit Union, the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, Duke University Stores and Duke Hospital gift shops.
Cards can also be ordered on-line at www.dukechildrens.org and or by calling 919-667-2575.
