Duke Student Found Dead Wednesday

Foul play is not suspected, although investigation is continuing, school officials say.

A Duke University senior was found dead on Wednesday, and although foul play is not suspected the case remains under investigation, school officials said Wednesday night.

The student was identified as Billy Dwight, 23, of Kernersville, N.C. In an e-mail to students Wednesday night, Vice President for Student Affairs Larry Moneta said, "The details regarding cause of death are still under investigation but what we do know is that his death was not in Durham County and foul play is not presumed. We are in the process of identifying and supporting anyone who knew Billy and I encourage any of you who have not been contacted, but knew Billy, to be in touch with us."

Moneta instructed students on how they could get immediate support; other support options can be found at: http://www.studentaffairs.duke.edu/deanofstudents/get-help.

"We are deeply saddened by this loss and offer our deepest condolences to Billy's friends and family." Moneta's e-mail concluded.
