Nannerl Keohane, Frank Rhodes to Discuss Wide Range of Higher Education Issues
Issues to be discussed during the public conversation range from affirmative action to big-time athletics, from nurturing good teaching to protecting free speech
DURHAM, N.C. -- Two higher-education leaders will engage in a public conversation on issues ranging from affirmative action to big-time athletics, from nurturing good teaching to protecting free speech, on Tuesday, Feb. 3, on the Duke University campus.
Participating in the discussion are Nannerl O. Keohane, who is stepping down in June after serving as Duke's president for 11 years, and Frank H.T. Rhodes, the president of Cornell University from 1977 until 1995 and a nationally recognized advocate for education and research.
The discussion, which is free and open to the public, begins at 4 p.m. in Room 139 (the Weston LeBarre Auditorium) of the Social Sciences Building, on Duke's West Campus. A reception will follow in Perkins Library's Rare Book Room.
The program is sponsored by Duke Magazine and the Office of the Senior Vice President for Public Affairs and Government Relations.
