Fuqua Launches Campaign to Help Its Students Find Work

The new "Hire Up" campaign is attempting to create new partnerships, and rejuvenate past partnerships, between companies and the Fuqua School of Business.

DURHAM, N.C. -- The Career Management Center (CMC) at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business recently launched the "Hire Up" campaign in an effort to help Fuqua students find jobs and internships in an ailing economy.

The "Hire Up" campaign, led by Sheryle Dirks, senior associate director of the CMC, uses up-to-date technology with innovative marketing techniques to create new partnerships between companies and Fuqua, rejuvenate past partnerships and use Duke's alumni base to develop connections between their companies and Fuqua.

"Throughout the country, business schools are feeling the effects of the economy," Dirks said. "Fuqua is fighting back with a creative and unique campaign."

The campaign begins with a package sent to various companies that contains a metallic key with an engraved web address. This address directs the viewer to an e-spot, which contains an online multimedia message. Following the e-spot, the viewer is offered the option to forward the e-spot to the company's decision-maker, to post a job or to receive a recruiting package.
