Audio clips for Loggerhead Turtle article
Marine Biologist Larry B. Crowder of Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences, talks about his large-scale project to preserve loggerhead sea turtles
Since this summer, Crowder and his students have raised some 500 turtles at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, N.C., have conducted minor surgery to determine the gender of each turtle, and are in the process of releasing them into the Gulf Stream.
In these four audio segments, Crowder describes the project:
- Obtaining and maintaining the turtles (crowder1.wav | crowder1.mp3 -- 2 min.)
- How the research is being conducted (crowder2.wav | crowder2.mp3 --1 min.)
- The importance of the project (crowder3.wav | crowder3.mp3 --1 min., 45 sec.)
- The potential effect of global warming on the turtle population (crowder4.wav | crowder4.mp3 --1 min.)
