Welcome to the Week at Duke in 60 Seconds.

Duke’s EMS program teaches students how to provide emergency care until Durham County responders arrive. Recently, four EMS students resuscitated Professor George Grody when he suffered a cardiac arrest in Perkins Library.

A new service called BuzzRides provides free late-night transportation for students. These fully-electric vehicles are also eco-friendly.

On Monday, Scott Dikkers, the founding editor of The Onion, spoke before a large crowd in Page Auditorium about humor in politics.

Duke has taken steps to prevent birds from flying into glass buildings on campus. A team installed small dotted stickers on windows to help birds with visibility.

Finally, this weekend marks the 15th Pride Parade in Durham on Duke’s East Campus. Events include a parade, a 5K run, music, dancing and speeches.
